2008 Calendar of Events

March 28 - Opening Day of Summer Season. Time to be announced. The bell choir from Gordon Street Christian Church, Kinston, NC will perform. Worship in the Meeting House followed by refreshments in the Barton Warren Stone Museum.

June 28 - Cane Ridge Day 2008
-
An exciting program of worship, keynote speakers and music is planned.

       Registration — 9:30 a.m.

      Gathering — At approximately 10:15 a.m., the morning activities will begin with Special Music by a youth bell choir, the Raytown (MO) Christian Church Inspiration Ringers, followed by Heather McColl, pastor of Midway Christian Church, giving her congregation's history. Next, former Midway College President Dr. Robert Botkin will speak on "The School at Midway: A Clear Purpose through Changing Times."

      Lunch Break — At noon everyone will enjoy their own picnic on the Meeting House grounds with entertainment by The Backroom Bluegrass Band, Lexington.

      At 1:00 p.m., Mrs. Joyce Wallace of Second Christian Church, Midway, will give her church's history, followed by Midway College President Dr. William B. Drake, giving an address entitled "Contemporary Disciples Higher Education: Church or Church-Related?"

      The Day will conclude no later than 3:00 p.m.

July 31-August 3 , 2008 - Cane Ridge will host several tours from the World Convention of the Churches of Christ in Nashville, TN. Contact Convention officials for tour details.

October 31 - Closing Day of Summer Season and Opening Day of Winter Season

      10:00 a.m. — Worship in the Meeting House, followed by refreshments in the Barton Warren Stone Museum. 

Note:  Visiting congregations occasionally hold worship services in the Meeting House on Sundays during the Summer Season.  Phone 859/987-5350 for information regarding these services.
